Student accommodation
The Social Services of the XIOS Hogeschool Limburg (STUVOX), providing support for all students with social, financial, psychological or practical problems, will also help the incoming students with their housing problems. Together with Hasselt University, PHL and KHLIM the XIOS University College Limburg offers a large list of student accommodation in Hasselt and Diepenbeek. Students are free to use the model contract (insurance inclusive) between the XIOS University College and the landlords.

Student counselling & coaching
Individual student tutoring is an integral part of our education system. As some students have great difficulty adjusting to the higher education system, the XIOS Hogeschool Limburg is committed to facilitating this process of adjustment. The students ‘pre-knowledge’ can be optimised by refresher courses. Seminars and laboratory work are organized in small groups, thus facilitating contact with the respective tutors. In some departments students can opt for an individual tutor, a confidential member of staff, who will advise them on any problem connected with their work. During examinations students can rely on an ‘ombudspersoon’ for any advice or assistance.
Extra-mural & leisure activities
Student unions Each department has its own student union. Student unions are fully independent. Each of them has its own executive committee and organises its own activities.
Sports Throughout the academic year sports competitions in several disciplines are organised by our sports council. Our well-developed sports infrastructure provides great opportunities to those students who wish to practise sports for recreational purposes.
Cultural activities Cultural activities are organised by the XIOS University College on a regular basis, often in co-operation with our Social Services Office. Our student unions also organise cultural events of all kinds.
