Erasmus code 06.2

In view of the complexity of the production processes and their maintenance, which require a team with a wide-range educational background comprising all the specific features of technique, the aim of the bachelor education in electro-mechanics is to mould highly trained , versatile specialists endowed with multifarious skills. After acquiring sufficient experience, he will be equal to a manager’s role on the medium executive staff level. In that sense, the bachelor may mean a necessary link between the master (engineer) and the technician.

Owing to his clear view of the practical needs and their connection with the theoretical aspects, this specialist is apt to be employed in all branches of industry as well as in planning offices with a view to designing industrial equipment. Therefore the bachelor education program in electro-mechanics at the XIOS Hogeschool Limburg provides a wide scope of theoretical study-fields with regard to electricity, electronics, mechanics and automation, combined with the practical know-how gained in the various laboratories. The general basic subjects are focused on assimilating useful skills rather than on pure science.

Climatization

As the modern heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and cooling installations are gradually getting more complex, operating such climatizing installations with minimal energy demands a profound knowledge of the techniques related to heating, ventilation , air-conditioning and cooling. Owing to appropriate practical exercises, study visits and practical training periods in a company, the student is enabled to master the necessary know-how and abilities.

Maintenance techniques:

The automation of the production processes claims much from man and machine. In that respect, the maintenance of technical installations forms an essential point of attention. Subjects like maintenance organization, robotics, vibration engineering, tribology, integral quality care, management and safety should add to the reliability of the future bachelor who chooses for this section.
